OPINION: When Controversial Tanzanian Politician Zitto Kabwe Goes Piggish

The  wise saying goes,  don't wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty and the pig enjoys it. Th is is what I can only say with regards to a  disgraceful article I just read that was    published by the Daily Mav e rick.  I advise the Editor to exercise the duty of truthfulness despite the right to free speech.   The  demands on how Tanzania handled corona virus were one sided and seriously lacked objectivity, therefore, truth was thrown in the trash bin. The article written by a Tanzanian opposition politician deserves not in any reference list but in a smelliest trash. Just there because it is hugely misleading and misinforming.   If the Tanzanian leader John Magufuli’s handling of corona virus was an epitome of incompetence as the article claimed, what makes the COVID 19 cases decline steadily in  Tanzania?  Despite its largest population size in East Africa, Tanzania had fewer cases. We all know of Dr. Magufuli’s record since he was a Minister. He is never incompe

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has a never-say-die fighting spirit and his march to State House now appears unstoppable.  Some observers say he is calculating and realistic, and seems to be reinventing himself as the real alternative for Kenyan politics come 2022. Besides his impressive development record in Machakos, and given his networks in the country, Dr Mutua, whose grasp of issues with the dexterity of a hands-on leader is unmatched, is seen as a perfect compromise candidate in the 2022 presidential race.  He continues to attract a lot of interest in his actions and dealings, with each and every step he makes being watched closely by political foes, allies and Kenyans at large. The Machakos county chief has also mounted a relentless anti-corruption crusade that has not gone down well with his detractors, who feel that he is targeting top politicians in President Kenyatta's administration. He has however intimated that he is open to building alliances with like-mi
